COMMUNITY EVENTS: The City of Pickerington is home to several events which celebrate the City and nearby area. One major event is the annual Pickerington Violet Festival. Additionally, the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce hosts several events such as the Taste of Pickerington/Community Showcase each year. DAYCARE CENTERS/PRESCHOOLS: There are nine daycare centers/preschools in Pickerington.

DOG LICENSES: Licenses are issued through the Fairfield County Auditors Office at 210 East Main Street in Lancaster. They can be reached at 740-687-7027. Two other important phone numbers for pet lovers include the Fairfield County Dog Warden at 833-6300 and the Fairfield County Humane Society at 740-687-0627.

GARAGE SALES: The City of Pickerington does not require a permit for garage sales, however, it asks that residents exercise judgment in the placement of garage sale signs. Also, some subdivisions have their own garage sale requirements not connected with the City.

GOLF COURSES: The Turnberry Golf Course is located at 1145 Clubhouse Drive in Pickerington. Their phone number is 645-2582. This is an 18-hole, par 72 course.

PICKERINGTON PARKS AND RECREATION: The City's Parks and Recreation Department oversees park land located in Sycamore Park, Victory Park, Colony Park, Simsbury Park, and Willow Pond Park. Facilities include four shelter houses with picnic tables and grills; five playground units; Zeller-Smith covered bridge; a gazebo; amphitheater; three acre pond; four softball diamonds; two basketball courts; over 4,600 feet of path space for bicycling; four soccer fields; five tennis courts; sledding hills; sand volleyball court; horseshoe pits. SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL: When the City of Pickerington experiences snow and ice during the winter months, the City's Service Department does its best to keep roads safe and clear. Primary streets, such as State Route 256, Refugee, and Diley Roads, are generally serviced first. Collector streets, such as Center Street, Columbus Street, Long Road, and Lockville Road are then serviced followed by residential streets.
