AIRPORTS: The City of Pickerington is ten miles from Port Columbus International Airport and 15 miles from the Rickenbacker Port Authority.

COMMUNITY EVENTS: The City of Pickerington is home to several events which celebrate the City and nearby area. One major event is the annual Pickerington Violet Festival. Additionally, the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce hosts several events such as the Taste of Pickerington/Community Showcase each year. DOG LICENSES

DRIVER'S LICENSES: In the state of Ohio, driver's licenses and vehicle registrations can be obtained at any Deputy Registrar office. This is regardless of your county of residence. The Pickerington Deputy Registrar's office is located at 473 Hill Road North. The office can be reached at 834-9930.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY GOVERNMENT

FIRE PROTECTION: The Violet Township FD covers the City of Pickerington. They can be reached at 837-7345.

GARAGE SALES: In order to preserve quality of life in all Pickerington neighborhoods, the City regulates garage and yard sales.  Two (2) sales per year are allowed when you apply for a free permit.  Permits are available at City Hall, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Permits are valid only for the days designated on the permit.  Signage is limited to one sign at the sale displayed from the night before the sale to the end of the sale.  Signs must be three square feet or smaller, and must be unlit with no movement (no balloons, etc.).  Signs are never permitted on public poles, traffic signs or fences or in the right-of-way (i.e., between the curb and sidewalk or if a sidewalk is not in place, the distance from the curb or pavement to the sign is to be a minimum of 10 feet).

HOSPITALS: Mount Carmel East is within ten miles of Pickerington at 6001 East Broad Street in Columbus. They can be reached at 234-LIFE. The Fairfield Medical Center is within 20 miles and located at 401 North Ewing Street in Lancaster. They can be reached at 740-687-8000. The Ohio State University Medical Center's east side hospital is located at 1492 East Broad Street. They can be reached at 257-3000. Finally, Children's Hospital is located at 700 Children's Drive in Columbus. The main phone number is 722-2000 and the Children's Hospital Emergency Room number is 722-4300.

PICKERINGTON AREA FOOD PANTRY: The food pantry is located at 15 East Columbus Street in Pickerington's old Carnegie Library. For more information or to donate items, call Beth McCullough at 837-2691.

PICKERINGTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Pickerington Historical Society is a great resource to learn about the history of Pickerington. The Society's museum is open during the summer on Saturdays from 10AM to 3PM or by appointment. Call 837-2119 for more information or any assistance for historical projects.

PICKERINGTON LIONS CLUB: The Lions Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month. For more information, call 920-0800.

PICKERINGTON PONDS: Pickerington Ponds is part of Metro Parks, which operates 14 parks in seven central Ohio counties. There are always programs at the Pickerington Ponds metro park for the public. For more information, visit www.metroparks.net

PICKERINGTON YOUTH ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION: The PYAA operates several sporting activities for Pickerington-area children. For more information call 834-1669 or www.pyaa.org.

RED CROSS

REYNOLDSBURG/PICKERINGTON ROTARY CLUB: The Reynoldsburg/Pickerington Rotary Club meets at noon Tuesdays at the Blacklick Woods Metropolitan Golf Course Clubhouse. The clubhouse is located at 7309 East Livingston Avenue.

TAX RATES: The City of Pickerington has a one percent income tax. The Pickerington Local School District also has a one percent income tax.
